NSR - Cookie Exchange

Hello stampers and scrappers

Thanks for stopping now, you have probably started some of your holiday cookies and treats to give out this year.

Every year for the past five or six years now, I have hosted a fun Cookie Exchange. I usually do this on the first Sunday in December (unless it falls on Thanksgiving weekend, like this years did).  It is a fun way to have friends and family over to celebrate the upcoming holidays and get everyone into the holiday spirit...and it forces me to get my house decorated early as well.

The cookie exchange is a fun event and I look forward to it every year....and this year was even better than the last....I usually have the "regulars" and look forward to recruiting in some new cookie swappers.....and this year there were a total of eight swappers...and delish cookies.

Doesn't this table filled with home baked goodness just scream YUM!  It's fun...and yes...there was stamping (MDS) involved as my invitations were created using the Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio!

Here's another shot of the goodies.....

This year I also baked up some giugerbread men to decorate...I think everyone loved that and everyone raved over the cookies..I have to tell's the best gingerbread cookie ever..and it was a kit from Aldi's...all I had to add to the dough was some butter, water and honey...they are yum-O!
Now, if you missed out on this year's swap, no worries...there is always next year!
It's a wonderful. time of the year to share with friends and family!
Have a super stampin' cookie day!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Hello Stampers and Scrappers!

It's a busy time of the much to, wrapping, baking, decorating, cleaning, etc.  I could go on and on but it's also the best time of the year to not forget those less fortunate than ourselves.

During this time of the year, we all have things that occur in our lives; things that we think are the worst possible events, but believe me, those that do not have family or loved ones that care about them...they are truly those we need to not forget about during this time of the year...a simple Happy Holidays (or Merry Christmas), a smile, a wave of the hand to them or even a simple card to send...can really brighten up someone's day!

Please take a moment to whip up a simple card to send off to someone that is alone or maybe does not have family during this will make a world of difference to them.

For inspiration, let me share with you some quick ideas to create:

I hosted a class/Christmas Stampin' Party this week.  The class was focused on our Watercolor Winter Kit in the current Occasions Catalog....don't forget to check it's on the clearance rack..,,,,it's not just for Christmas either....this is a fun "happy" card.....The sled is already die cut for just need to get out your aqua painter (or use the paintbrush provided for you in the kit). Everything you see here was included in the kit....except the ribbon bow....that was from my stash.

Now here is another quick card put together using the same kit...the kit comes with supplies to create a total of 20 cards....and envelopes...and what a great deal it truly is.....

The "Merry" is watercolored with Old Olive using ink from the lid of the ink pad and some water using my aquapainter...the letters just need to be punched out as do the trees, holly and vellum leaves.
The tree was colored by a direct to paper technique....using the same Old Olive ink...what a bolder color you can get using a direct to paper techniqure. This tree was then layered onto the gold glimmer tree which also is punched out. The kit also includes the sequins and the word Christmas was stamped using the coordinating stamp set.
It's hard to tell but the layered white background has an embossed woodgrain background...
Now head on over to my online store and stock up on these marked down'll be ahead of the game for next Christmas or those winter birthdays and such!
Have a super stampin' day!

Borderline Buddies

Hello Stampers!

It's a busy time these much to get little seems like there was so much time when Thanksgiving was here, but we week until Christmas...I just cannot picture where the time has gone!

So it's another Borderline Buddies Day!  I enjoy these Wednesdays sharing projects with you.

Leanna and I agreed that for this month we would do anything Christmas, so I have the perfect share for you.

I work in an office and we always get our boss a gift the girls, knowing that I create cards, asked if I would come up with a card.  So this is what I have to share with you this week.

The photo doesn't do it justice.  The scallop frame is cut using Glimmer Paper; and some rhinestones as well.

I colored in the cardinal with Blendability Markers.  I love how it turned out.

I also added to the berries some of the red glitter paint that SU sells.  I cannot think of the name of it off the top of my head, and my catalog is in my stamp room; the room next to where Travis is sleeping please bear with me for the names of things..including the DSP I used on the card which is found in the Holiday Occasions Catalog.
I hope you enjoy this card...I think it came out really pretty.....

Now lets head on over to see Leanna's creation for this week
Have a super stampin day!
